Local login
All Bizzkit applications and APIs are secured by Bizzkit User Management, which offers multiple authentication options. We strongly recommend using the standard login methods, leveraging upstream providers such as Google and Microsoft for secure and convenient access. However, we recognise that some users may prefer local login, or it may be necessary in certain situations—potentially even as a temporary solution.
To address this need, we have introduced local login as an alternative authentication method. This allows users to log in using a username and password, with the option to enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for enhanced security. This provides a simple yet secure way to access Bizzkit applications when upstream providers are not viable.
Enabling local login
By default, local login is disabled and must be configured by an administrator using the Bizzkit User Management API. During setup, administrators can define security settings, including minimum password length, email-settings (learn more), etc.
Using local login
Once local login has been enabled, users can be created in the Bizzkit User Management system with a name and email address and assigned the necessary roles for accessing the application. During the creation process, the user can be invited to set up a password.
After completing the setup, the user can log in using their credentials via the login page.
If a user forgets their password, they can reset it using the Forgot password link on the login page.
Once logged into a product, they access their user profile and:
- Change their password at any time.
- Update their profile with relevant details.
- Enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) for enhanced security (if required).
Managing templates
Local login is fully adaptable, allowing you to design a login page and email templates that align with your brand and style. The User Management API enables you to manage templates in multiple languages, ensuring a consistent and seamless user experience.
