AI translation with BAIA
Bizzkit PIM offers functionality to translate texts for PIM attributes based on AI technology. Bizzkit AI Assistant (BAIA) is seamlessly integrated in the PIM UI to provide a smooth user experience when using the text translation functionality.
The translation feature is a part of the Mass Edit editor and is optimized for translating texts for multiple products at once.
Feature overview
Highlights
- Translation of product texts from one language to another using AI technology
- Works out of the box: no configuration needed
- Generate translations for multiple products at the same time, using Mass Edit
Translating multiple attributes at the same time
The translation flow in Mass Edit starts by selecting one source language and one target language. By default, the source language matching the translation culture of the preferred segmentation, is selected.
After selecting the source and target languages, up to three attributes can be selected which are to be translated. The available attributes are a subset of the attributes which are applied as columns on the product list. Only text based attributes can be selected, any attribute fields which aren't of a supported type are filtered out of the view and won't be visible.
Handling default segments
For attribute fields of a data type that uses a default segment, this segment will be used as fallback. This means that in case a Source language is not available for a product, the content of the default segment will be used instead as source of the translation.
Supported data types
The following text-based data types are supported for AI translations:
- PTranslatedString
- PTranslatedStringD
Fields on single-valued attributes that use one of these data types can selected when using the translation feature.

Limitations
The AI text translation feature in Mass Edit can translate texts for up to three attributes at the same time. The attributes should contain fields of one of the supported types in order for translations to be applied on them.
