AI text translation

We have added a powerful AI translation mode to the Mass Edit functionality, designed to help you seamlessly translate your content from one language to another. This feature supports translation for PTranslatedString and PTranslatedStringD attributes without requiring any additional configuration.

You can use this new translation capability alongside the AI Text Generation tool. First, generate your text using the AI Text Generation tool, and then leverage the AI translation mode to quickly translate the generated content into other languages.

Access this feature by selecting the "AI Translation" option from the Mass Edit dropdown in the product list or in the Mass Edit view itself.

Upon selecting "AI Translation" from the dropdown, a dialog appears where you can choose the source and target languages for translation. By default, the system preselects your current translation culture as the source language and the second language in your system as the target, streamlining the setup process. However, you can adjust these selections to any available languages.

To switch between source and target languages, use the double-arrow icon. Once you’ve set your desired languages, click "Select Attributes" to proceed.

The "Select Attributes to Translate" dialog resembles the one in the AI Text Generation feature. By default, it automatically selects the first three attributes compatible with the translation operation, which are attributes using a field of type PTranslatedString or PTranslatedStringD.

These attributes, along with the source language, are visible in the background, indicating that you're in translation mode.

Only compatible attributes are shown for selection. If other field types were present on your product list page, they will not appear here, as they aren’t supported for AI translation. You can adjust the selection if you have more compatible attributes, but you can only choose up to three attributes to translate.

If text already exists in the target language and attribute, you have the option to overwrite it. When your setup is complete, click the "Translate" button to proceed.

The dialog auto-selects the first three compatible attributes for translation. Adjust selections if needed, and click 'Translate' to proceed.

After pressing the "Translate" button, you'll see the target language column, in this case Danish, appear for each selected attribute. Once BAIA completes the translation, the generated text will be highlighted with a green background, indicating that it's ready for review.

If you are satisfied with the generated text, click the "Save" button to confirm and save all AI-generated translations.
